Mahua Sarkar is Associate Professor of Sociology, Asian and Asian-American Studies and the Women's Studies Program at Binghamton University, SUNY. Her book, Visible Histories / Disappearing Women: Producing Muslim Womanhood in Late Colonial Bengal was published worldwide by Duke University Press, 2008, and in a special South Asian edition by Zubaan Books, New Delhi, 2008.
